Privacy links and shortcodes
Put your policy pages and “Your Privacy Choices” in your footer, and show your cookie list on a page.
Legal links in your footer
Privacy laws expect your policies to be one click away from every page. GoConsent adds the links for you; change how in Settings › Legal links:
- Automatic (the default): at the end of your footer menu on a classic theme (a menu named “Legal” or “Footer” first), inside the footer on a block theme, or else in a slim bar at the bottom of each page. Links the page already has, such as a Privacy Policy link or your theme’s own Your Privacy Choices link, aren’t repeated. The setting shows where it puts them on your site.
- Add to my footer menu: pick your footer menu and the links appear at the end of it, in your theme’s own style. Your saved menu isn’t changed, and pages already in it aren’t added twice.
- I’ll place it myself: add the Legal links block, or
[goconsent_legal_links], to your footer in any editor or page builder. Best for block themes, which build menus with blocks. - Add a slim bar at the bottom of every page: for themes without a footer menu. It takes your footer’s colors.
Tick the pages to include. Only published pages are linked, and “Your Privacy Choices” is always there. If you turn Legal links off, the checkup on the Overview reminds you.
